Ministry of Economic Development has announced that submissions for national-level exhibition of Maldivian craftsmanship, "Fannu Expo" will be accepted starting Wednesday.
Deputy Minister Hussein Zaamir stated that the ministry will be accepting submissions at Dharubaaruge from 16-31st October.
"The ministry will begin accepting creations submitted for the competition starting from the 16th. Those who submit the application form along with their creations can participate in the exhibition", said Zaamir.
The exhibition is scheduled to be held from the 22nd - 28th November at Dharubaaruge, Kalaafaanu School and 'Kudakudhinge Bageecha' Children’s Park.
While the exhibition is a platform to showcase talents, it is also an opportunity for small and medium scale businesses. 600 awards will be given from 78 different participation categories.
Five of the selected best participants will be awarded a loan of MVR 1 million. They will also be able to display their creations in the duty-free shop of Maldivian craftsmanship being established in Velana International Airport (VIA). Furthermore, they will be given the opportunity to submit their creations to the six-months long "Expo 2020" in held Dubai.
