A storeroom in Palm Beach Island Resort in Lh. atoll caught on fire on Tuesday night.
MNDF said the incident occurred at 2254 hrs when a storeroom that contained dried palm leaves caught fire. The source of the fire is currently unknown.
Firefighters from MNDF's Fire Station at Naifaru were dispatched to the resort when the reports of the fire were received by MNDF. The fire was quelled by the firefighters and the staff of the resort after a while.
Chief Spokesperson of MNDF said more than half of the storeroom burnt to ashes in the incident. No injuries were reported.
