An additional person infected with COVID-19 in the Maldives has recovered from the illness.
Doctor at state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) on Thursday said one of the patients being treated at Dharumavantha Hospital has tested double negative for the virus.
Earlier on Wednesday, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had announced that eight out of the thirteen COVID-19 patients in the Maldives had recovered from the virus. With the new recovery, the number of active cases is now 4.
More than a week has passed since a positive case of COVID-19 was last detected in the Maldives. The government has taken stringent measures to contain the spread of the virus, most recently the closure of the country's border.
