Shipment of 10 ventilators arrives in the Maldives

The government has received ten ventilators procured from Dubai.

The government tasked three companies to purchase 145 ventilators under single source procurement policy, including Dubai company Executer General Trading. The order for 75 ventilators were placed at the company through the World Health Organization (WHO).

Speaking at the National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC)'s press briefing, the centre's Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said 10 ventilators arrived in the Maldives on Thursday, bringing the total number of ventilators available in the Maldives to 129. 35 additional machines are expected to arrive before the end of the month, and the remaining machines will arrive in June, said Mabrook.
