The Maldives on Saturday recorded 39 new cases of COVID-19. This brings the total number of infections in the archipelago to 1313.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 16 Maldivian nationals, 15 Bangladeshi nationals and 3 Indians are among those who tested positive for the virus on Thursday.
The Agency also announced 18 patients have recovered from the illness, bringing the total number of recoveries to 127.
According to HPA, 1127 people are currently at isolation facilities and 1650 individuals are in quarantine. 18,111 samples have been collected for testing thus far.
The Maldives have recorded four COVID-19 related deaths thus far. A fifth person who recently recovered from the illness passed away earlier this week after suffering a shock.
