Maldives records sixth COVID-19 related death

Maldives has recorded a new COVID-19 related death.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Monday that the deceased was a Bangladeshi national. The 54-year-old passed away while being treated at the private Tree Top Hospital located in the reclaimed suburb, Hulhumale’.

This is the sixth COVID-19 fatality recorded in the Maldives. As of Monday, three locals and three Bangladeshi nationals have died from the illness. All three locals were elderly patients.

The total infected figure now tops 1700 in the Maldives. 12 people are being treated at the Tree Top
Hospital, which is being used as the main Centre to treat COVID-19 patients in the Maldives. One patient is being treated at the ICU.
