Daily COVID-19 stats: 11 cases, 69 recoveries

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Friday revealed that the Maldives recorded 11 new cases of COVID-19.

HPA said the new cases include 8 locals and 3 Bangladeshi nationals. This brings the total number of infections to 1,883.

The number of positive cases have been declining in the recent days. The Maldives recorded the least number of daily cases over the past four days.

According to HPA, 1157 cases are currently active. The number of recoveries is at 717 with 69 new recoveries confirmed over the past 24 hours. 1482 people are at quarantine facilities while 1228 people are in isolation. Until now, 28,440 samples have been collected for COVID-19 testing.

The Maldives has recorded seven COVID-19 related fatalities to date. They were four locals and three expatriates.
