The Maldives on Saturday recorded its 8th COVID-19 related fatality.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), a 38 year old Bangladeshi national who was taken to state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in critical condition passed away at 09.25 am on Saturday.
While the Maldives has recorded 1,883 positive cases of COVID-19, a large percentage of infected patients are Bangladeshi nationals. In addition to the newly deceased, three Bangladeshi nationals and four locals succumbed to the illness in Maldives.
