The Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Tuesday announced over half of the COVID-19 cases reported in the Maldives have made full recoveries.
While 85 people recovered from COVID-19 on June 9, the total number of recoveries stands at 1010. This number is equivalent 52.01 percent of infected cases.
The archipelago recorded 26 new cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,942. The new cases of 19 locals and 7 Bangladeshi nationals. The number of positive cases have been declining over the past few days.
According to HPA, 31,697 samples have been collected for testing until now. Testing is being carried out at main government hospital IGMH, Police Forensics Lab and privately-run ADK Hospital.
8 COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the Maldives since it identified its first case 94 days ago. The number of active cases is now 922.
