The Maldives on Sunday recorded 22 new cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the new cases are of 9 Maldivian nationals, 9 Bangladeshi nationals, 1 Indian national, 2 Nepalese and 1 Thai National. This brings the total number of cases in the archipelago to 2035.
HPA said 714 cases are currently active, and 34,677 samples have been tested for the virus until now. 462 people are at isolation facilities while 341 people are at quarantine facilties. The country has recorded 1311 recoveries and 8 deaths to date.
