The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 17 new positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the Maldives on Thursday.
According to HPA, the new cases are of 7 Maldivians and 10 foreigners. This brings the total number of positive cases in the archipelago to 2,137.
HPA also announced 82 new recoveries on Thursday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,759. The number of active cases is 368. Figures announced by HPA show 38,623 samples have been tested for COVID-19 to date. 251 people are at isolation facilities while 301 people are at quarantine facilities.
The Maldives has recorded eight COVID-19 related deaths to date.
