Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced that 16 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Sunday.
According to HPA, the new cases are of 8 locals and 8 foreigners. This brings the total number of positive cases to 2,203.
HPA also announced 15 recoveries on Sunday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,803. The number of active cases is 387.
41,554 samples have been tested for COVID-19 thus far, out of which 707 samples were tested over the past 24 hours. 305 individuals are at isolation facilities while 147 individuals are at quarantine facilities. The Maldives has recorded 8 COVID-19 related fatalities to date.
