Police have arrested seven people in three operations conducted jointly by police drug enforcement and police intelligence. The three operations were conducted on Friday based on the information received by police intelligence.
In the first operation, a pick-up truck traveling from Hulhumale’ to Male’ was stopped and several cases of alcohol found on the truck were seized. A Bangladeshi national was arrested in connection to the case. The court has issued a 5-day remand for his arrest.
Additionally, two flats in Hulhumale’ were checked with a court order. Drugs and alcohol were found in the first flat upon search. Two local men have been arrested in connection to the case. The court has issued 15-day remand for the two people. In the third operation, drugs and alcohol were discovered in a flat upon searching. Four local men have been arrested in connection to the case. The court has issued 5-day remand for the people.
