Death of Indonesian man classified as a non-COVID death

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has declared the most recent COVID-19 death as a non-COVID-19 death.

A 39-year old Indonesian man admitted at DH11 facility in Dharumavantha Hospital passed away late Thursday, and HPA first reported his death as the 11th COVID-19 death in the Maldives.

However, the tweet making the announcement was later deleted, and HPA said they no longer classified the man's death as a COVID-19 death. The primary cause of his death was stage 4 cancer, said HPA.

Therefore, the number of COVID-19 deaths in the Maldives has now been revised to 10.
