The Maldives on Sunday recorded 33 new cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the new cases are of 12 Maldivians and 21 foreigners. This brings the total number of positive cases to 2,468.

HPA also announced 19 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,049. The number of active cases is 404. 11 COVID-19 deaths have been recorded in the archipelago to date, the most recent being the death of a 77 year old local woman who passed away early Sunday morning.
56,138 samples have been tested for COVID-19 thus far. Authorities said 281 individuals are currently at isolation facilities while 108 individuals are at quarantine facilities.
