The Maldives on Monday recorded 23 new cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the new cases are of 16 Maldivians and 7 foreigners. This brings the total number of positive cases to 2,491.
HPA also announced 64 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,113. The number of active cases is 361.
The Maldives also recorded its 12th COVID-19 death on Monday, According to HPA, an 80 years old local male admitted at DH11 facility in Dharumavantha Hospital passed away at 04:35 am.
56,916 samples have been tested for COVID-19 thus far, out of which 778 samples were tested over the past 24 hours. Authorities said 280 individuals are currently at isolation facilities while 107 individuals are at quarantine facilities.
