The Maldives on Thursday recorded 36 new cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the new cases are of 33 Maldivians and 3 foreigners. This brings the total number of positive cases to 2,553.
HPA also announced 36 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,227. The number of active cases is 306, and 13 deaths have been recorded to date.
59,530 samples have been tested for COVID-19 thus far. Authorities said 283 individuals are currently at isolation facilities while 97 individuals are at quarantine facilities.
