A person has been arrested with drugs in the island, Magoodhoo of Faafu Atoll.
Police said they arrested a 24 year old local man from the island with drugs in an operation conducted jointly with police intelligence and Magoodhoo Police Station. The operation was conducted by the police after police intelligence received a report of drugs being smuggled to Magoodhoo in a ferry enroute to Faafu Atoll. He was arrested in the harbour area of the island after the police found a can suspected to contain drugs upon searching his possessions.
Recently the police have conducted major drug bust operations in the Maldives.
