COVID-19: 52 patients currently hospitalised

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed that 52 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized.

The total number of positive cases recorded in the Maldives is now at 3,044 out of which 45 cases were confirmed over the past 24 hours. Out of the 617 active cases, 52 are receiving treatment at hospitals.

The two locations currently being used for COVID-19 treatment are the DH11 facility at Dharumavantha Hospital in Male’ and Hulhumale’ Medical Facility. Patients who are in critical condition are usually treated at DH11.

Most of the people who test positive for COVID-19 experience little to no symptoms of the illness. Those who do not exhibit symptoms are isolated, and only those that exhibit symptoms and those who have other morbidities are hospitalized.
