A Maldivian national passed away due to COVID-19 late Saturday.
The Health Protection Agency, HPA said a 52 year old Maldivian female presented herself to state run IGMH's ER with breathing difficulties earlier in the evening at 4:40 pm. She passed away at 11:20 pm.
This is the 17th COVID-19 death in the Maldives.
The Maldives on Saturday recorded 156 new cases of COVID-19. This is the most number of positive cases recorded in one day since the island nation lifted restrictive measures in July. The total number of positive cases is now 3,949.
