Maldives' COVID-19 toll rises to 19

The Maldives on Tuesday recorded an additional COVID-19 death.

The Health Protection Agency, HPA said an 80 year old Maldivian female admitted at the ICU in the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility passed away on Tuesday morning at 09:30am. This is the 19th COVID-19 death in the Maldives.

According to the Health Emergency Operations Centre, HEOC, 92 patients with COVID-19 were hospitalised as of Monday night. While 87 people are admitted at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility, three are hospitalized at Dharumavantha Hospital. Two more patients are admitted at B. Eydhafushi COVID centre and Sh. Funadhoo COVID centre. As of Monday night, five were being treated in ICU with two on ventilator support.

The Maldives has recorded 4,293 positive cases until now. The number of positive cases and deaths have been rising rapidly over the past week.
