The Maldives on Wednesday recorded 148 new cases of COVID-19. This is the fifth consecutive day that the daily figure has remained as a three-digit figure.
The Health Protection Agency, HPA said the new cases are of 117 locals and 31 foreigners. While most of the cases were identified from epicentre, capital Male’, the figure includes two cases from the atolls. The total number of positive cases is now 4,594.
The archipelago recorded 13 recoveries on Wednesday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,706. 110 people are currently hospitalized. 19 COVID-19 deaths have been recorded to date.
