The Maldives on Monday registered 116 positive cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency, HPA said 111 people from the epicentre, Greater Male’ Area, and 5 people from the atolls tested positive for the virus over the past 24 hours. The new cases are of 77 locals and 39 foreigners. The total number of cases is now at 5,157.
HPA also announced 31 recoveries on Monday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,835. While 2,303 cases are active, 19 individuals have succumed to the illness to date.
