Maldives' COVID-19 deaths rise to 21

The Maldives recorded its 21st COVID-19 death on Wednesday morning. This is the second COVID-19 death recorded over the past 24 hours.

According to the Health Protection Agency, HPA, a 77 year old Maldivian female admitted at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility passed away at 09:20am.

The number of positive cases recorded in the Maldives has been increasing rapidly over the past three weeks. The tally is now at 5,223. Authorities have warned that the death toll may increase over the coming weeks.
