COVID-19 cases in Maldives cross 6,000-mark

The Maldives recorded 170 positive cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

The Health Protection Agency said all but one case was identified in epicentre, capital Male’ region. The new cases of 139 locals and 31 foreigners. The total number cases has now crossed 6,000, with the tally at 6,079.

HPA also announced 160 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,648. 24 deaths have been recorded to date with the most recent death occurring on Tuesday morning. The number of active cases is 2,407.

144 patients are currently hospitalised and receiving treatment.
