Latest COVID-19 stats: Tally at 6,912 with 133 new cases

The Maldives on Monday registered 133 positive cases of COVID-19 and one death.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 121 people with the infection were identified in the Greater Male’ Area while the remaining cases were identified from the atolls. 103 cases are of locals while 30 cases are of foreigners. The number of cases is nearing 7,000 with the current tally at 6,912.

HPA also announced 187 recoveries on Monday, raising the total number of recovered cases to 4,297. While 27 deaths, with the most recent death occurring early Monday, have been recorded to date, the number of active cases is 2,588. Out of these, 171 people have been admitted at the hospital.
