COVID-19: 15 cases from 10 islands

15 people with COVID-19 have been identified from the atolls.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said three cases have been identified in Addu City of Seenu atoll while four cases have been registered in Dhaal Rinbudhoo. One case has been identified each in Dhaalu Dhuvaafaru, Faafu Bilehdhoo, Faafu Dharaboodhoo, Thaa Omadhoo, Baa Eydhafushi and Kaafu Maafushi,

The number of cases identified in the atolls have been increasing over the past few weeks. Most of the cases are of people who are in home quarantine in the respective islands after traveling from epicentre, capital Male’.

Maldives’ tally is currently at 6,912. While 27 deaths have been recorded to date, 2,588 cases are currently active.
