The Maldives on Wednesday registered 178 cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), all but two cases were identified in epicentre, Greater Male’ Region. The new cases are of 141 locals and 37 foreigners. The new cases increase the Indian Ocean island state’s COVID-19 tally to 7,225.
HPA also announced 122 recoveries over the past 24 hours. The number of recoveries is now at 4,561. While 2,636 cases are currently active, 162 patients have been hospitalised, and 28 deaths have been recorded to date.
