The Maldives on Wednesday recorded 137 positive cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 129 cases were registered in the Greater Male’ Area while the remaining 8 cases were recorded from the atolls. The new cases are of 96 locals and 41 foreigners, bringing the tally to 8,140.
HPA also announced 73 recoveries on Wednesday, raising the total number of recoveries to 5,338. While 2,767 cases are active, 166 patients have been hospitalised. The number of deaths recorded in the Maldives is at 29.
