The Maldives on Sunday recorded 98 new cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 87 cases were identified in the Greater Male’ Region while the remaining 11 cases were recorded from the atolls. While the new cases are of 72 locals and 26 foreigners, the total number of positive cases is now at 8,58486.
HPA also announced 114 recoveries over the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 5,936. While 2,613 cases are active, 147 patients have been hospitalised. 29 deaths have been recorded to date.
