COVID-19: Numbers remain at two-digit figures for third consecutive day

The Maldives on Tuesday recorded 74 new cases of COVID-19. The number of positive cases recorded in the Maldives have been maintained at two digit figures for three consecutive days.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 63 cases were identified in the Greater Male’ Region and that the remaining 11 cases were recorded from the atolls. While the new cases are of 59 locals and 15 foreigners, the total number of positive cases is now at 8,741.

HPA also announced 105 recoveries over the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 6,157. While 2,549 cases are active, 139 patients have been hospitalised. 29 deaths have been recorded to date.
