HPA announces two COVID-19 deaths; toll at 31

The Maldives on Wednesday announced two COVID-19 related deaths. This raises the Indian Ocean archipelago’s toll to 31.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said a 60 year old MAldivian male admitted at Hulhumale’ Medical Facility’s ICU passed away at 6:24 pm on Wednesday.

The agency later announced that a 58 year old man who was undergoing cancer treatment and in quarantine in Ha. Kelaa had passed away on Tuesday night at 8:15 pm, and that the death has been declared as a COVID-19 death.

The Maldives has recorded 8,471 cases of COVID-19 until now. While the numbers remained in three digit figures for the past few weeks, the numbers have fallen below 100 for the past three days.
