The Maldives on Wednesday recorded 93 new cases of COVID-19. The number of positive cases recorded in the Maldives has remained below 100 for four consecutive days.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 86 cases were identified in the Greater Male’ Region and that the remaining 7 cases were recorded from the atolls. While the new cases are of 67 locals and 26 foreigners, the total number of positive cases is now at 8,834.
HPA also announced 105 recoveries over the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 6,288. While 2,509 cases are active, 127 patients are currently hospitalised. 31 deaths have been recorded to date, with the two most recent deaths announced on Wednesday night.
