The Maldives on Friday recorded 90 new cases of COVID-19. The number of positive cases recorded in the Maldives has remained below 100 for six consecutive days.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 78 cases were identified in the Greater Male’ Region and that the remaining 12 cases were recorded from the atolls. While the new cases are of 58 locals and 32 foreigners, the total number of positive cases is now at 8,990.
HPA also announced 277 recoveries over the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 6,846. While 2,103 cases are active, 120 patients are currently hospitalised. 31 deaths have been recorded to date.
