COVID-19: Maldives crosses 9000-mark; 62 new cases

The Maldives on Saturday recorded 62 new cases of COVID-19. The number of positive cases recorded in the Maldives has remained below 100 for one week.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 51 cases were identified in the Greater Male’ Region and that the remaining 11 cases were recorded from the atolls. While the new cases are of 44 locals and 19 foreigners, the total number of positive cases is now at 9052.

HPA also announced 277 recoveries over the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 7,055. While 1,960 cases are active, 116 patients are currently hospitalised. 31 deaths have been recorded to date.
