Latest COVID-19 stats: Only 22 locals tested positive on Sunday

The Maldives on Sunday recorded 75 new cases of COVID-19.

Since the time a lockdown was imposed in the Maldives, the least number of Maldivians tested positive in one day on Sunday, with 22 positive cases. The remaining 53 cases recorded over the past 24 hours were of foreigners. The total number of cases recorded in the Maldives now tallies at 9,724.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) recorded 73 recoveries on Sunday. While 8,261 cases have recovered until now, the number of active cases is 1,424, out of which 107 people are currently hospitalised. 33 deaths have been recorded to date.
