The Maldives on Thursday recorded 54 cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency said 1,456 samples were tested in the 24 hours leading up to 6pm on Thursday. 30 cases were of locals while the remaining 24 cases are of foreigners. All but four cases were identified in the Greater Male Region. The total number of cases identified in the Maldives is now at 9,939.
HPA also announced 67 recoveries on Thursday, increasing the total number of recoveries to 8,597. While 34 deaths have been recorded to date, 1,301 cases are currently active across Maldives, including 42 cases in the atolls.
