COVID-19: Maldives cross 10,000 mark

The number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has crossed 10,000 with 75 new cases recorded on Friday.

According to the Health Protection Agency, 75 cases were recorded in the 24 hours leading up to 6:00 pm on Friday. All but 9 cases were identified in the Greater Male’ Region. The new cases are of 53 locals and 22 foreigners, increasing the tally to 10,014.

HPA also announced 76 recoveries on Friday, increasing the total number of recoveries to 8,673. While 1,300 are active, 47 cases have been recorded in the atolls. 34 COVID-19 deaths have been registered to date.
