Latest COVID-19 stats: tally at 10,194 with 37 new cases

The Maldives on Tuesday recorded 37 cases of COVID-19.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,427 samples were tested in the 24 hours leading up to 6:00 pm of Tuesday, out of which 37 samples tested positive for COVID-19. All but three cases were identified in the capital Male’ region. The new cases are of 31 locals and six foreigners. The total number of cases recorded in the Maldives is now at 10,194.

HPA also announced 87 recoveries on Tuesday, increasing the total number of recoveries to 9,037. While 1,116 cases are currently active across Maldives, 34 deaths have been recorded to date. 80 people are currently hospitalised out of which five people are in critical condition. Cases are active in 23 islands and 23 resorts across Maldives.
