The Maldives on Monday registered 49 new cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,282 samples were tested in the 24 hours leading up to 6:00 pm of Monday, out of which 49 samples tested positive for COVID-19. 43 cases were identified in the capital Male’ region while six cases were recorded in the atolls.
The new cases are of 33 locals and 16 foreigners, raising the total number of cases recorded in the Maldives to 10,943.
HPA also announced 41 recoveries on Monday, increasing the total number of recoveries to 9,783. While 1,118 cases are currently active across Maldives, 35 deaths have been recorded to date. Cases are active in 21 islands and 20 resorts across Maldives.
