The Maldives on Tuesday registered 50 new cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,389 samples were tested in the 24 hours leading up to 6:00 pm of Tuesday, out of which 50 samples tested positive for COVID-19. 46 cases were identified in the capital Male’ region while four cases were recorded in the atolls.
The new cases are of 48 locals and 2 foreigners, raising the total number of cases recorded in the Maldives to 10,993.
HPA also announced 50 recoveries on Tuesday, increasing the total number of recoveries to 9,833. While 1,118 cases are currently active across Maldives, 35 deaths have been recorded to date. Cases are active in 20 islands and 18 resorts across Maldives.
