The Maldives on Thursday registered 51 new cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,534 samples were tested in the 24 hours leading up to 6:00 pm of Thursday, out of which 51 samples tested positive for COVID-19. 46 cases were identified in the capital Male’ region while five cases were recorded in the atolls.
The new cases are of 33 locals and 18 foreigners, raising the total number of cases recorded in the Maldives to 11,113.
While 1,140 cases are currently active across Maldives, 35 deaths have been recorded to date. Cases are active in 18 islands and 19 resorts across Maldives.
