Daily COVID-19 stats: 32 new cases, one death

The Maldives on Sunday registered 32 new cases of COVID-19.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,252 samples were tested in the 24 hours leading up to 6:00 pm of Sunday, out of which 32 samples tested positive for COVID-19. 21 cases were identified in the capital Male’ region, while the remaining 11 cases were identified in the atolls.

The new cases are of 27 locals and 5 foreigners. The total number of cases recorded in the Maldives is now at 11,210.

While 1,002 cases are currently active across Maldives, 37 deaths have been recorded to date, with the most recent death registered on Sunday morning. Cases are active in 20 islands and 19 resorts across Maldives.
