The Maldives on Saturday recorded 16 positive cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,204 samples were tested on Saturday, out of which 16 samples came back positive.
According to HPA, 13 cases were identified in the Greater Male' Region and three cases were identified in the atolls. Out of these, 13 are locals and three are foreigners. The total number of positive cases recorded to date is now at 11,659.
While 800 cases are currently active across 16 islands and 26 resorts, 38 deaths have been recorded to date.
