Daily stats: 42 new cases, 773 active cases

The Maldives on Sunday recorded 42 positive cases of COVID-19.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,920 samples were tested on Sunday, out of which 42 samples came back positive.

According to HPA, 20 cases were identified in the Greater Male' Region and twelve cases were identified in the atolls. Out of these, 19 are locals and 23 are foreigners. The total number of positive cases recorded to date is now at 11,701.

While 773 cases are currently active across 16 islands and 26 resorts, 38 deaths have been recorded to date. 51 patients are currently hospitalised while two are being treated in the ICU.
