Daily stats: 59 positive cases; tally at 11,796

The Maldives on Tuesday recorded 59 positive cases of COVID-19.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,471 samples were tested on Tuesday, out of which 59 samples came back positive.

According to HPA, 26 cases were identified in the Greater Male' Region and 33 cases were identified in the atolls. Out of these, 29 are locals and 30 are foreigners. The total number of positive cases recorded to date is now at 11,796.

While 780 cases are currently active across 13 islands and 31 resorts, 38 deaths have been recorded to date. 55 patients are currently hospitalised while two are being treated in the ICU.
