Bahrain’s flag carrier Gulf Air will resume operation to the Maldives next month.
Gulf Air previously resumed operation to the tourism dependent nation in October after its borders were reopened in July. The flights were suspended once again at the end of the tourism season. However, the airline is preparing once again to resume operation to the MAldives.
The airline said it will begin operation on December 12. An Airbus A321 neoLR will be used for operation between Bahrain International Airport and Velana International Airport. The flight can seat 150 passengers, said Gulf Air.
The Maldives closed its borders to tourists on March 27 as a precautionary measure against COVID-19. Over 14 airlines have resumed operation to the Maldives following border reopening in July, and 41,000 tourist arrivals have been recorded since then.
