The Maldives on Friday recorded 39 positive cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,473 samples were tested on Friday, out of which 39 samples came back positive.
According to HPA, 32 cases were identified in the Greater Male' Region and seven cases were identified in the atolls. Out of these, 20 are locals and the 19 are foreigners. The total number of positive cases recorded to date is now at 11,932.
While 845 cases are currently active across 15 islands and 28 resorts, 39 deaths have been recorded to date, with the most recent death registered on Friday afternoon. 54 patients are currently hospitalised while two are being treated in the ICU.
