The Maldives on Friday recorded 27 positive cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,256 samples were tested on Friday, out of which 27 samples came back positive.
According to HPA, 24 cases were identified in the Greater Male' Region and the remaining three cases were identified in the atolls. Out of these, 17 are locals and the rest are foreigners. The total number of positive cases recorded to date is now at 12,112.
While 820 cases are currently active across 9 islands and 25 resorts, 41 deaths have been recorded to date. 52 patients are currently hospitalised while two are being treated in the ICU.
