The Maldives has recorded 42 positive cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,215 samples were tested on Saturday, out of which 42 samples came back positive.
According to HPA, 32 cases were identified in the Greater Male' Region and ten cases were identified in the atolls. Out of these, 28 are locals and 14 are foreigners. The total number of positive cases recorded to date is now at 12,154.
While 843 cases are currently active across seven islands and 26 resorts, 11,262 recoveries have been recorded to date. The death toll is at 42, with the most recent death recorded earlier on Saturday. 49 patients are currently hospitalised.
